Database corruption/recovery
At around 1:30AM ET, we noticed strange behavior on the Director hosting platform. Upon investigating, we found that the database that holds album information had become corrupt, making it seem like no albums existed inside any given slideshowpro.com install. In order to be safe, we have restored the albums database to the most recent backup, which was made just before 1AM.
The net effect of this incidient is that any album that was created between roughly 1AM and 1:30AM will need to be recreated. If an album was modified during that time, you may need to make those changes again.
We always strive for the highest data integrity and are sorry for this error. This is also a good illustration of why we backup the slideshowpro.com system vigorously, as it allows us to recover from serious issues like this quickly. We’ll be investigating this issue more thoroughly in the days to come in hopes up finding a cause so that we can prevent it from happening again.
If you have any questions regarding this error or any other issues you are seeing, please contact us via our contact form at slideshowpro.net.
